After first leaving the UK to work abroad at the age of 21, I spent the next nine years looking for a new place to call home while traveling and working my way around the world.

It was at this point I discovered Turkey and, after visiting Istanbul, I was quickly introduced to Bodrum, which I’m proud to call my home.

I quickly purchased my first property there which was initially used as a holiday home. This property is still today, some 26 years later, my permanent family home.

After becoming a resident and doing business in Turkey for the following five years, I decided to apply for my Turkish citizenship. I was the first foreign male of my age to make a citizenship application, so the laws regarding citizenship where not properly in place. So an interesting story is that a lot of the rules still in place today where written on my application.

During my 28 years in Turkey, I have personally invested in all aspects of the Real Estate industry and also assisted thousands of foreign investors to acquire their retirement home or investment property.

Most retirees or families relocating also required residency, so we already had vast experience before the Turkish citizenship by investment program was introduced in 2017.
